Temperature rising!
It’s finally nice out in the city, and we’re all profoundly horny for it.
If I had to pick a song of the summer at this early date, it’s “Nokia” by a mile. Silly Drake — by far, the best Drake — crooning BABYGORRRL like if Gru was from Mississauga and used the word “crodie.” It kept a pep in my step all week.
Nature, healing, etc.

Went to A$AP Ferg’s first art show on Thursday. Very good! He and Kerin bonded over crystals and these incredible hand-made chairs. Not pictured: iced out chain featuring Yams (RIP) riding a unicorn. It spins around.
Spent the following evening at Brooklyn Paramount with A-Trak and Trixie Mattel, who does not own rapper jewelery to the best of my knowledge but proudly sports a Buc-ee’s sticker on her laptop. Last year we toured literal NASA, then went to the largest Buc-ee’s in Texas; I remain unsure which one is the greater testament to human achievement and cooperation. In any case, this got the night’s biggest YAAAAAASSSSSS.

Saturday was for Central Park and its many full-bloom flower gardens, wild animals and Marathon Man filming locations. I hope the I Like Turtles kid is having a wonderful day.
Stopped by Elsewhere last night for Twin Shadow in the round. Reverb! Also: pedal steel, fantastic banter, and genuinely beautiful songs off his new album Georgie, put out by my day one Roxy Cottontail as the debut LP of her Dom Recs label.
I’m leaving out Easter Sunday at the Judy Blume Service Plaza, a trip to the legit ridiculous new mall outside UBS Arena and like eight other activities.
Moral of the story?
I appreciate all of you reading this on your computing device of choice but please, please, please go outside.
DJ Alex Gloor Smylonylon mixes — did not know the backstory of In Flagranti’s Gloor and his “uneasy listening” compilations for a ‘90s NYC clothing store whose deadstock ‘70s curation gave many big dog fashion designers their first taste of wide lapels and shiny synthetics.
Eyedress, Stoner — another end-to-end burner from the king of (ultimately unclassifiable) neo new wave. Great guestlist, too.
Godzilla Hammer — Godzilla Hammer!
“Why do AI company logos look like buttholes?” — just asking questions.
How Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" Became An All-Time Classic — I’m in the corner, reading this article. Wooah-oh-ohh!
Ozzy Osbourne, “Time After Time” — don’t think these tiny guest stars would fly today, but the oversized suit jackets are hitting in any era. “Beatles Ozzy” def top five Ozzys, shout out “Dreamer.”
Ike Ufomadu Stand Up — no spoilers but the star of Inspector Ike had me in IRL convulsions with his intro bit (and the rest of the set, too).
Tombogo PocketCam — palm-sized digicam with throwback resolution, PS2-inspired UI, and even more lil quirks. We love adorable and unnecessary tech! I still long for a PXL2000…
Playlists updated!
